The Sacramental Mystery of God Revealed in the Cosmos

The spiritual life is grounded in mysteries revealed through signs. Scientific discovery has always engaged mystery with both mind and heart, as most recently exhibited by the spectacular productions of the Webb Telescope. Join us for an intriguing discussion of how the art of modern scientific exploration of the cosmos enriches our encounter with the divine. 

Father John Kartje is the President/ Rector of the University of St. Mary of the Lake/ Mundelein Seminary, the major seminary and school of theology for the Archdiocese of Chicago and beyond, with seminarians from over 40 dioceses worldwide. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2002, and has taught Scripture at Mundelein since 2009, becoming Rector in 2015 He has served in parish and campus ministry in both Chicago and Washington, DC. Father John holds doctorate degrees in both Scripture (Catholic University of America) and astrophysics (University of Chicago).
